My Portfolio

This blog displays a selection of my portfolio work which I feel best represents my personality and style. I am currently studying Textiles Art and I am thoroughly enjoying the freedom of the course as it has allowed me to broaden my skills and discover my own style of work. I am continually developing my work through experimentation of technique, colour and design; I strive for perfection in everything I do.

I have submitted a selection of my AS and A Level Textile Artwork as well as some images from my GCSE Textiles Technology portfolio. I have included my Textiles Technology work to demonstrate my drawing, design and practical skills in Fashion. I was very pleased to be awarded an A* grade at GCSE Level. My Textile Artwork showcases my flare and creativity. I love creating sketchbooks which are bursting full of information and inspiration which I can then use to aid the development of my final pieces. I really enjoyed exploring the theme of Art Nouveau in my AS Level exam work by taking my own photographs and using them to inspire my corset design. I also enjoyed creating the Helen Banzhaf inspired piece because it was a new and challenging technique.

I am really excited at the prospect of studying Fashion Design because I believe this is the next step towards me fulfilling my ambition of working within the Fashion Industry. I feel that the course is very exciting and within it I have the scope to fully express and experiment with my creativity.  I would relish the opportunity to work within an environment I love and I feel studying Fashion Design will enable me to do this.
